Learn in-depth safety and hiking techniques in preparation for day hikes. Topics include principles and procedures of hiking, survival and safety techniques. Learn about terrain, path markers, weather conditions, clothing and footwear for basic and intermediate hiking. This course is a prerequisite for all fall day hiking classes, unless you have participated in a Carroll Community College hiking series within the past year.
