Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or drones, are a technology that is changing the world of agriculture. Drone technology utilizing NDVI information will make farming more efficient and more effective. If you are curious about what a drone can do for agriculture and how it can be utilized to help the industry, then this is the perfect class for you. The course will introduce you to drones and NDVI technology for agriculture, what types of drones can be utilized in agriculture, and how drones capture crucial data that can help farmers increase crop yield and revenue. Learn how to read the data gathered by the drone and how to explain it to the customer. Students will have the opportunity to see a drone in flight, perform their own flights, and gather and analyze the data they gather. Prerequisite: DRN-002 or FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification and 15 hours of recorded drone flight time.
