Learn the basic techniques and procedures necessary to properly collect blood specimens. Topics include venous anatomy and physiology, blood collection systems, performance of venipuncture, infection control and patient relations. Course includes 30 hours of classroom training plus 18 daytime hours of clinical practice at local labs. At time of registration, student must have current American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR card. Medical Assistant students must have also successfully completed Professional Preparation for Medical Assistants AHE-312. Uniform required.
