Prepare to work in long-term care facilities assisting residents with activities and social needs as an activity director. Topics include the role of the activity director, programming options, the role of various therapies in activity programming, options and uses for adaptive equipment and interventions, management of resident and community volunteers including recruitment, training and recognition, documentation, structure planning for optimal use of environment, and establishing and facilitating group and individual participation. Upon successful completion, students will be prepared to work in a long-term care setting including assisted livings, adult day programs, retirement communities and community centers. Content is available online for 6 months after enrollment.
