Discuss political, social and cultural history of the United States from 1877 to 1920, as we transformed from a predominantly rural agrarian society to an urban industrial society, and from a continental power to a global power. Discuss changes and the resulting debates on issues related to immigration, urbanization, industrialization, labor and farmer unrest, the widening gap between rich and poor, the role of government and America’s place on the world stage. Co-listed with credit.
