2024 Homeless Services Summit

Join us as we bring together service providers, system leaders, advocates and people with lived experience of homelessness to learn from each other, discuss best practices and highlight current services available to support individuals at risk of homelessness in Carroll County.  Hear from local providers of shelter services, housing programs, aging services and food security efforts while gaining insight from individuals who have walked through these programs and services. Engage in genuine discussions about youth homelessness, services within our community, issues that are unique to youth and hear from youth with lived experience who have walked through this system, sharing their ideas for improvement. Learn from providers about treatment options available in Carroll County and how to navigate them. This panel will bring an authentic voice of people who access these services and their experience. Discover educational and workforce development opportunities across Carroll County. Learn what skills make a valuable job candidate and what training may enhance marketability.  We will share where to start and what it takes to enroll/engage in these opportunities, many of which are short-term and may be free. No cost but registration is required. Includes breakfast, lunch, networking and resource tables!
The Summit begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast, followed by opening remarks at 8:30 a.m. from representatives of the Board Carroll County Commissioners, and guest speaker, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Assistant Secretary of the Division of Homeless Solutions, Danielle Meister.
