Before diving into hands-on AI tools, this session grounds faculty in Carroll’s guiding principles for responsible AI use. We’ll cover what AI is (and isn’t), the ethical and compliance considerations specific to higher education, and how to navigate Carroll’s approved tools—including Microsoft Copilot and Khanmigo in Canvas. If you’ve been wondering how to approach AI safely, ethically, and effectively in your teaching, this session is for you.
This training is designed to introduce Carroll employees to AI tools and best practices for safe, ethical, and effective use in College roles. At this time, only Microsoft Copilot and Khanmigo (via Canvas) are approved for College-related work. Use of non-College-endorsed AI tools is only permitted only on personal (non-college) devices with non-College credentials. Employees are required by law to comply with FERPA, PII, MHEC, and ADA guidelines at all times.
