This professional development course is for current employees of Carroll Community College, only.

Description: The focus of this microcredential is to create content that is equally available to as many as possible, including those with disabilities in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. On April 26, 2024, the Federal Department of Justice enacted a rule requiring digital content to be digitally accessible by April 26, 2026. Digital content is all web pages including anything available to students in Canvas courses. 

This microcredential aligns with Carroll Community College's mission to "provide accessible, high-quality educational opportunities."

Learning Outcomes
  1. Explain the rationale for digital accessibility.
  2. Apply appropriate strategies to create digitally accessible content using Microsoft applications.
  3. Use a digital accessibility checker to confirm compliance.
