A Carroll Community College nursing instructor will discuss and demonstrate the skills a caregiver in the home needs to assist a loved one with daily personal care and provide a safe home environment. Learn about adaptive equipment, supplies and resources to ease some of the daily challenges. Topics include preparing the home, basic supplies, bathing, nail, foot and mouth care, identifying unsafe conditions and moving someone safely, such as from bed to chair or wheelchair to toilet, using techniques to avoid injuring yourself or your loved one. Includes continental breakfast.
